Avoiding Distractions, Focusing on the Goal

A new initiative called “23 Tir” has emerged, primarily composed of a group of nationalist revolutionaries. Some of them appear to be monarchists, as evidenced by their recent calls for the transitional leadership of the national revolution to be handed to Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi. They propose that “the leader of the transitional period to democracy will be Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi, and free elections will be held under his leadership.”

At first glance, this suggestion may seem interesting. However, our primary point of emphasis has always been and remains that the Royalist Association has consistently avoided distractions and focused on advancing its struggles towards the main goal. It goes without saying that we adhere to the commands and guidance of Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi, our leader in the national revolution and the primary opponent of the Islamic Republic regime.

Nevertheless, we respect the well-meaning intentions of those behind this initiative. Still, we believe it is important to clarify our stance to our supporters, especially in light of some who may have been confused by the call. We feel it necessary to discuss our position to prevent any misunderstandings.

While the call for action may seem honorable, we see no evidence that it will lead to a productive outcome. It lacks a clear solution and risks setting a dangerous precedent that may lead to proposals like “a government in exile” or “a parallel government” in the future. These would only create further complications.

The call for Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi to take on leadership today, if unanswered or rejected, could be used by enemies to sow doubt among his supporters. Worse, this path could lead to bigger mistakes, such as creating a “government in exile” or “parallel government.” To prevent these types of diversions, we must remain committed to careful and collective decision-making.

Those who track the evolution of social movements know that significant changes do not happen overnight. Such proposals may seem small or harmless initially but can lead to complications down the road. We believe that such tactics, while well-intentioned, are inappropriate for the current stage of the Iranian national movement.

We have observed in the past that well-meaning but poorly timed calls for action can be detrimental to the movement’s growth. Statements such as “If the prince supports us, things will change,” or “If the prince assumes leadership,” serve only to create confusion among supporters.

The idea that “if the prince supports us” will somehow solve everything reflects a misunderstanding of the role of leadership. Revolutionary leadership cannot simply be handed off or outsourced. It is not a matter of wishful thinking but requires constant action and engagement from all involved.

Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi has always been engaged in the struggle for Iran’s liberation. He has been at the forefront of this movement for as long as the current regime has existed, and his role has only grown with time. His efforts over the past five years alone, particularly in light of the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement, have demonstrated his deep involvement and leadership.

To clarify further, “taking on leadership of the revolution” is not something that can be casually requested or offered. Leadership in the modern world, particularly in a social revolution, is about strategic guidance and the ability to unite the people around a common goal. It is not a question of issuing commands from on high but of engaging with the people and organizing them in a way that reflects their will and aspirations.

Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi has proposed strategies such as general strikes, mass protests, civil disobedience, and an eventual referendum to determine Iran’s political future. His leadership has been accepted by the people, as evidenced by their slogans during street protests: “Iran is ready, Prince give the order,” and “A country without a king has no order.”

At this point, any proposal to “hand over leadership” reflects a fundamental misunderstanding of the role Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi has already assumed in leading the national movement. The Royalist Association believes that its supporters should remain focused on the guidance and strategies laid out by Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi. Our primary task is to spread these strategies among the people and continue organizing the struggle towards the ultimate goal of overthrowing the regime.

In conclusion, our path to victory lies in unity and focus. We must avoid distractions and remain committed to the cause of national liberation under the leadership of Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi. Only through coordinated action and adherence to his guidance can we achieve the unity necessary to succeed.
