Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  1. Question: What is the difference between the Iran Project and other opposition groups?

Answer: The Iran Project is a non-political, non-partisan organization comprised of highly competent technocrats, with organization and operations expertise, who have come together to provide the mechanism for a strong voice and influence to the silent majority of Iranians, at home and abroad; and to provide support to all Iranians in their aspirations for a free, secular, and democratic system of government.

  2. Question: If the Iran Project is non-political organization, how would it exist in today’s political environment where so many Iranian political opposition groups are active in?

Answer: To achieve the Vision of a free, secular, and democratic Iran, existence of healthy and popular political groups with support and influence inside Iran is extremely important, but not adequate. To facilitate the transition from the current regime at minimum human cost, there needs to be a carefully defined process, strategies, and a highly competent team of operations professionals to successfully manage this transition. The Iran Project fills the void in operational capability that is urgently needed.

  3. Question: Where does the Iran Project funding come from?

Answer: The Iran Project depends on support primarily from the members of the Iranian American community and allies who support the cause of human rights, freedom and democracy in Iran.

  4. Question: Are financial contributions to the Iran Project tax deductible?

Answer: All financial contribution and donations to the Iran Project should be made to its sister organization, the Iranian Unity and Solidarity Council, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, nonpartisan organization.

  5. Question: What is the Iran Project’s position on military action against Iran?

Answer:  We believe the best way to bring stability to Iran, and ensure enduring peace in the region and beyond, is supporting the freedom loving aspirations of the people of Iran in ridding themselves from the regime. We call on all regional and western powers not to reward the regime’s bad behavior, at home or abroad. The Iran project opposes war with Iran.
